Description
Upper Jungpana Vintage Spring – First Flush – 2018 (FTGFOP-1 – Classic) is an amazing offering from Mahalderam Tea Estate – an outer division of Jungpana Tea Estate.
Mahalderam Plantation is also the highest elevated plantation of Darjeeling at 6200 ft above sea level. The plantation here mainly consists of old chinary seed bushes. The climate is very cold and almost all through the year this region is covered with a thick cloud cover. It is a tough winter for the bushes and the growth is very minimum. After the stressful cold winter the first rays of sun in spring bring our the best in store from the bushes. The growth is slow for the leaves and this results in more complex flavour teas.
The dry leaves are uncut with shades of green and tips. Aroma is little grassy with a floral delicate aroma. When brewed for 3.5 minutes it gives a golden yellow liquor with strong floral aroma. The sip is a burst of complex flavours with grassy and floral tones along with the astringency.
A tea which only Jungpana is capable of producing. Indeed a VINTAGE JUNGPANA TEA.
- DRY LEAVES: Bright twisted uncut leaves in shades of green.
- LIQUOR: Bright golden with floral aroma.
- INFUSION: Bright green with whole leaves and passion fruit aroma.
STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:
Fresh water brought to 1st Boil (90C). Add 1 tea spoonful (2 grams) per cup of 150ml. Steep for 3.5 minutes. Strain to cup and sip as it cools. Second and third steep gives best result when steeped for full 5 minutes.
