Seeyok Moonshine – First Flush – 2023 (Clonal – P-312)

Description

Seeyok Moonshine is an organic clonal tea from the farms of Seeyok Tea Estate. Seeyok Tea Estate is spread over 400 hectares of garden area in the Mirik Valley. The garden is very close to the Indo-Nepal border and the view from this estate is mesmerizing. The garden is predominantly planted with chinary bushes from 4500 to 5500 ft. above seas level. The estate lies in the foothills of Kanchenjunga Mountain and the teas from this estate have a mystical beauty to it.

This estate is also among the first estates to go organic in the Darjeeling Tea Industry. Over the past decade, many sections have been planted with clonal teas of Av2 and P-312 variety. This particular batch is of the P-312 cultivar. Seeyok Tea Estate is among those silent gems of the Darjeeling Tea Industry which has the ability and potential to deliver some of the finest Darjeeling Teas.

This particular lot caught our attention as soon as we received the tea sample from the estate. The dry leaves are very fine and the perfect example of Clonal Spring Darjeeling Tea. The appearance is bright greenish with a lot of silver tips. The shades are clean and it fulfils all parameters of a good manufactured tea. The aroma is floral with a baked aroma. It has a hint of woody and citric note which tempts you to try the cup.

When brewed for 5 minutes, we get a beautiful liquor which is ideally a perfect clonal tea cup. The liquor is light yellowish golden with a soothing and captivating aroma. We can feel the jasmine and woody aroma in the cup. The sip is very smooth and has a balanced flavor all through. The flavor has not been forced in this tea. The manufacturing has been very delicately done and the flavors are all natural. The sip has prominent woody notes with a floral aftertaste. The flavor keep getting prominent as keep sipping this tea.

The infusion is bright green with whole leaves with baked vegetative aroma. We can also feel a hint of citrus aroma which is very soothing.

Overall, we can say that this is our first tea from Seeyok Tea Estate and we are already in love with the teas from this estate. This tea is a must try for all. Pamper your taste buds with the delicacy and smooth flavor of Seeyok Wonder.

STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:

Fresh water brought to 1^st Boil (90C). Add 1 tea spoonful (2 grams) per cup of 150ml. Steep for 4 minutes to 5 minutes. Strain to cup and sip as it cools. Second and third steep gives best result when steeped for full 5 minutes.
