Samabeong Spring Blossom is an organic clonal tea from the farms of Samabeong Tea Estate. Samabeong Tea Estate is located in the Gorubathan block in the Kalimpong District. This is one of the highest elevated garden in Darjeeling having its plantations up to 6500 ft. above sea level and is also famous for its breath taking scenic beauty. The view of the mighty Himalayas and the diversified flora and fauna of this garden is unparalleled.  Samabeong Tea Estate is known worldwide for its aromatic and mystical teas.

This particular invoice of Samabeong Spring Blossom caught our attention as soon as we received the sample from the garden. The dry leaves are a visual delight. Just upon looking at the dry leaves we can say that this tea has been manufactured with utmost care. Long twisted fine rolled uncut tea leaves with plenty of silver buds are a vision of beauty for the eyes. The aroma from the dry leaves is prominent and it has beautiful plum like aroma with a shadow of floral highlight. When brewed for 4 minutes, we get a bright golden liquor which is very flavorful. The aroma is not like the traditional Av2 teas but is more complex. The aroma is thick and we get notes of Gardenia and Lilies with a citrus undertone. As we sip the liquor, we get on of the most balanced cup of Darjeeling Spring Flush. The flavour is thick and it is a surprise for the palate. There are layers of fruity and floral flavors having a citrus undertone. The flavor keeps getting better and prominent as we keep sipping the tea. The finish is very smooth. There is a hint of astringency which adds to the glory of this tea and the aftertaste is prominent. The tea leaves a layer of flavors in our jaws and palate which gives a very aromatic mouthful.

The infusion is delicate uncut tea leaves having aroma of plums and passion fruit. The shades are bright green and we can clearly see in the infusion that the plucking standards for this tea has been very high.

Overall, we can say that this is our first tea from Samabeong Tea Estate but we can say that we will surely look forward for some amazing teas to offer you from this estate. If you are looking for a special Av2 tea which is different and better than the traditional ones, this is a must buy for you.

STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:

Fresh water brought to 1^st Boil (90C). Add 1 tea spoonful (2 grams) per cup of 150ml. Steep for 4 minutes to 5 minutes. Strain to cup and sip as it cools. Second and third steep gives best result when steeped for full 5 minutes.
