Description
Ringtong Muscatel is a remarkable tea produced by the Ringtong Tea Estate, nestled in the Kurseong Valley. This estate boasts an ideal location, elevation, and altitude for cultivating the finest Darjeeling teas. Rich in heritage and biodiversity, the estate’s fertile soil significantly enhances the quality of its tea. Over the years, Mr. Sanjay Choudhary, a third-generation planter, has meticulously maintained the health of the tea bushes, and his dedication is evident in the exceptional teas produced.
This batch is a quintessential example of true muscatel tea. The dry leaves are whole, uncut, and display dark coppery-black shades, exuding a deep fruity and roasted almond aroma. Opening the pack reveals an enticing treat for the palate.
When brewed for a full 5 minutes, the tea yields a bright reddish liquor with a sweet muscatel aroma, accompanied by notes of grapes and lychee. The sip starts with a sweet note that intensifies as it rolls over the palate. Prominent Flavors of musk and apricots emerge, underlined by a hint of citrusy lychee. A slight astringency adds to the tea’s special character, ending with a sweet trail that leaves you craving more. As we keep sipping the tea the flavour leaves a residue of flavours in our palate. The infusion is dark coppery with a sweet musky aroma.
Overall, Ringtong Muscatel is a genuine muscatel tea that all muscatel lovers should experience. We highly recommend this exceptional tea.
