Jungpana Vintage Muscatel – Second Flush – 2017 (SFTGFOP-1 Exotic)
Jungpana Tea Estate has some very special hybrid old bushes which have the astringent musk character of Chinary cultivar and the full thick body of Assamica cultivar. A rare combination but the teas are really special.
Jungpana Vintage Muscatel is a fine specimen of Darjeeling Muscatel. This year though the climate was favorable for Summer Flush but due to political agitation and demand of separate state Gorkhaland in the Darjeeling Hills the gardens remained closed. Only about 10% of quality Second Flush has been manufactured. We were able to procure this wonderful tea just before the gardens were closed.

The dry leaves are coppery black in colour with a chocolate nutty aroma. When brewed for 4 minutes it gives amber colour liquor with thick musky aroma. The sip is a burst of complex flavours in the mouth. The musky flavour is dominating mixed with roasted almond taste. As sip ends it give a fermented apple like aftertaste.
