Giddapahar Spring China – First Flush – 2019 (SFTGFOP-1 – SPL) is a mid-segment value for money tea in our Spring Collection. Giddapahar is a small tea farm owned by the Shaw family from the past 3 generations.

This garden over the years has evolved and has created an identity for their teas. They have introduced new range of machinery and upgraded their factory to deliver the best teas for the connoisseurs. The soil is very rocky and the location of the garden is such that there is always a cloud cover in the garden. The mist and the moist climate add to the flavor of their teas making them very different from common Darjeeling Teas.

The leaves are long twisted olive green and blackish in color. The aroma is that of baked nuts and has a very tempting citrus twang. When brewed for full 5 minutes it gives pale yellow liquor which has a vegetative and mossy aroma. The sip starts well with mild notes and gradually gets stronger as it touches the palate. The aftertaste is rich and has a mint like finish which is very smooth and satisfying.

Overall this is a perfect specimen of spring tea and is a real value for money for our buyers.

DRY LEAVES: Fine sorted olive green leaves with strong aroma.

LIQUOR: Pale yellow with citrus vegetative aroma.

INFUSION: Green with vegetative aroma.

STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:

Fresh water brought to 1^st Boil (90C). Add 1 tea spoonful (2 grams) per cup of 150ml. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Strain to cup and sip as it cools.
