Giddapahar China Special – First Flush comes from the farms of GIDDAPAHAR TEA ESTATE. This garden is located in the Kurseong Valley. The plantation constitutes of mainly chinary bushes. The plantation of this garden has a rocky terrain which restricts the growth of the roots of the bush and the weather is very humid. All this makes the garden prone to pest attack but the management works very hard to deliver the best teas. Though the garden is small, the factory and machinery is updated and among the best in the industry.

This particular lot is the second manufacturing of the 2023 season. The dry leaves are uncut and have a bright green shade. The long well twisted curled leaves are a visual delight. The aroma is pleasant. It has notes of roasted almonds with a hint of lime like aroma. When brewed for 5 minutes, we get a perfect spring cup. The liquor is lemony yellow in colour and has a floral aroma. Its very tempting and as you sip through the liquid we get a perfect first flush chinary tea. It starts with floral notes and one can feel the citrus twang on the palate. The sip ends well with a hint of baked green vegetables like note. It has almost zero astringency.

If you want to try a traditional old school Darjeeling First Flush, this classic tea is ideal. A true value for money tea. The tea is also good for 2 re-steeps.

• DRY LEAVES: Bright green long twisted leaves with few silver tips.
• LIQUOR: Bright golden yellow with sweet floral aroma.
• INFUSION: Bright green whole leaves with floral woody aroma.

STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:

Fresh water brought to 1^st Boil (90C). Add 1 tea spoonful (2 grams) per cup of 150ml. Steep for 4 minutes to 5 minutes. Strain to cup and sip as it cools. Second and third steep gives best result when steeped for full 5 minutes.
